Local fried chicken restaurant with complete brand identity and web UI/UX overhaul.
A sample of the previous old site design from another designer. Prominent information was unclear and/or difficult to find for the user. Before modern-day code, the old site was coded with the use of tables. As a result, the site was non-responsive to mobile devices.
In the early stages before logo and wire-frame development, mind maps were used to capture free-flowing thoughts to help develop the new brand identity for the local business.
To spark and maintain user attention spans, larger images of food were used to stir hunger. Further down, beta testers had commented that the new site made them more hungry after browsing. As part of the new brand, the proprietor's story was also added to the new site. Prominent business information will now be more highlighted.
In part of creating a new brand identity for the restaurant, a new color palette was selected. Yellow was selected to portray friendliness and happiness. Shades of gray were used as a base color to help balance the vibrancy of yellow and at the same time, provide good contrast to the viewer.
Utilizing the latest responsive framework in design, the site is now also mobile-optimized for today's smart devices. Higher conversion rates are expected as the new design allows for users to browse in a faster, intuitive way.
